Portfolio
All my artwork has been professionally scanned by a reputable fine art scanning studio, POV, in Los Angeles. The scans are impeccable.
These limited-edition , signed art prints are printed on the highest quality Museum rag paper. The paper, Entrada Rag Bright 300 is a 300gsm 100% cotton, with a smooth surface enabling it to reproduce vivid colors and exceptional detail. The printer is an Epson P700/9700 which carries a 10-color Ultrachrome PRO10 pigment ink system to produce high-quality, archival prints with a wide color gamut. These inks will last 100 years or more!
My art prints will be printed on 8.5X11, 11X14, 11X17 and 13X19 papers. All prints will have white borders and will be signed by the artist and given a limited edition number. The image itself will be contained within these parameters. Borders are approximately one inch surrounding the artwork given the ratio of the work.
I do not use the word Giclee as that term has basically been replaced by High End Digital fine art print. Technology is so advanced today and printers so refined I will just use the term Digital print. Digital printmaking technology is an exceptional process for fine art reproduction of original and one-of-a -kind artworks in all ranges of mediums.
About
Educated in the Fine Arts, with Degrees from both UCLA and Yale University, Joyce Patti has had an Illustrious career in both teaching and illustration. While Joyce was kept busy producing beautiful artworks, she taught in fine arts and illustration areas for close to thirty years. Twenty of those years were being a fulltime Professor at Cypress College, where she served as the Department Chair. Since her training was in oils, she executed most of her illustration work in that medium! (thank goodness for Liquin!). Her influences always came from not only the great art movements she studied such as the Pre-Raphaelites, the Symbolists, the Italian Renaissance, and Medieval Manuscripts but also from the great classical illustrators she discovered as a child. They took her to other worlds, journeys into fantasy kingdoms she wanted to explore…if they weren’t on this earth, she was going to create them. The beauty of the manuscripts, the otherworldly Unicorn Tapestries, the symbolism nature and flowers inspired many of her works.
She has been illustrating since 1985 for publishers such as Random House, Macmillan, Simon and Schuster, RCA/BMG Classics, Bantam Books, Stuart, Tabori and Chang, and Penguin. She has created posters and package designs for the likes of Macys, Celestial Seasonings, the BBC and Stars Wars paper doll books for George Lucas. She created a beautiful Illustrated set of collector plates for the Bradford Exchange and received numerous awards for her work. She is most proud of the beautiful covers she did for a series of books by Tamora Pierce . Her original paintings are in collections all over the US and abroad including Japan, the UK, and Germany. She has been a fine artist and has exhibited in Hawaii, California, Society of Illustrators, NY and various college exhibitions.
A native of California, she has traveled around the world, but has made Seal Beach, California her home for the past 45 years. She lives with her husband Tim and their dog Ranger and tends to her many beautiful gardens. Many of the months of the year she spends up in the verdant green wilderness of Oregon where her son, Will, his wife and 3 lovely grandchildren reside. She loves wandering the forests with her brood, being a grandma and sharing the magic of her art with her grandchildren.
